This project explores the potential of non-planar toolpath design to create organic joints for casting, aiming to push the boundaries of traditional planar layering methods. Using custom algorithms, the project develops complex, curvilinear toolpaths that adapt to the natural contours and requirements of organic joint structures. By designing these unique paths, we achieve greater structural integrity and aesthetic fluidity, aligning the cast joints closer to natural forms seen in biological organisms. This process allows for a new approach to additive manufacturing in which strength, form, and material distribution are optimized for functional and artistic applications. Additionally, by using clay-printed, the project examines possibilities for sustainable construction practices, embracing eco-friendly materials that support responsible design.
